They actively modulate the synthesis of filaggrin, an epidermal protein responsible for skin elasticity and hydration.

Hydroxytyrosol:prevents oxidative stress on cell membranes, protecting the skin. Hydroxytyrosol is a polyphenol commonly produced by the olive tree (Olea europaea L.). Hydroxytyrosol's remarkable antioxidant properties are based on its ability to interact with specific 'targets' in our body and through them activate our endogenous 'antioxidant machinery'.
